The Alair® Bronchial Thermoplasty System was approved in April 2010 by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of severe persistent asthma in patients 18 years and older whose asthma is not well controlled with inhaled corticosteroids and long acting beta agonists. Asthmatx is committed to training qualified physicians on this new treatment for severe asthma.
